GETTING REAL ABOUT ACNE

IMG_7433

I wake up this morning with a despiration to stay in bed, shut out the world and wish I could just find an acne cure for good. I have been struggling with acne for 8 years now and enough is enough. I do not want to be one of those women who ‘put up’ with acne for 40 years and only for it to leave once they have been pregnant! I want my live my 20’s free from skin worries and I do not want to enter my working life with spots!

I feel it there all the time, with the pressure of the pustules on my face and the pressure to look good, I’m rapidly growing tired of it and fighting it the whole time is not a walk in the park.

People who just think it’s spots, think again. It’s enough of a mental strain, let alone endlessly searching for THE acne treatment.

RANT OVER

In all seriousness, acne is hard work. It affects you physically and mentally but it seems to me that not many doctors take it seriously enough. The second issue I have is that there is an abundance of information on the internet claiming this that and the other remedies work, when in reality there is no scientific evidence they do. Then when people try them, they don’t work and they get disheartened. It’s a vicious cycle.

I may have stated the obvious today but the more people know an acne sufferer’s experience the better in my opinion. Societies’ opinion need to change in order for people to feel accepted in this day and age.

How does acne make you feel? Let me know!

Love, Amber x
