Same old, same old – Be grateful for what you have and who you are because that way there will be no one else like you, your uniqueness makes you beautiful.
“Why not be oneself? That is the whole secret of a successful appearance. If one is a greyhound, why try to look like a Pekingese?” [Dame Edith Sitwell.]
To me that quote means you should be yourself, and that is all you truly ever need to be a pretty lady. Not a fifty pound foundation caked on, not a closet full of Jack Wills or Prada. Simply yourself.
Society has trained us to believe we have to look a certain way or we are outcasts. We judge people without thinking about it. I’ve caught myself doing it! Its so hard no to because we have been brought up thinking its an okay thing to do. We categorise people:
a) Better looking then you vs ugly duckling compared to you.
b) Chav, sporty, Barbie, geek, or ‘those people’ ‘the poplar’s!’
Do you feel good when you do it? Putting people down, how would they feel if they heard you say that about them if it wasn’t kind? How would you feel?
People should be more accepting of people’s physical appearance and individualism should be encouraged. The world would then perhaps be a happier place, who knows?
‘Love comes to the people who show it’ [Ruby Summer] SHOW A LITTLE LOVE (and less bitching!) Girls are so stereotyped as doing it, don’t know about you, but I don’t want that reputation? CHANGE IT, SHOW IT!
